March 15th Northern California Osage Meeting hotel accommodations. Anyone making reservations for a basic room at the Executive Suites or Bayside Inn Hotel in Oakland has access to our NCO group rate; to get the reduced rate, room reservations must be made before Feb. 24th. ((Note: You must CALL and make your reservations and state you want the Northern California Osage group rate; online reservations will not work)): Best Western Plus Bayside Inn (510-356-2450) is the newer hotel with a rate of $159 & the Executive Suites (510.536.6633), also a nice hotel, is $139 (plus tax). Both hotels are on the water, share a free parking lot on the same property as the meeting space, and have complimentary Oakland Airport Shuttles. - Take Carson Street Exit toward Redwood Road
- Keep right at fork, follow signs to Leona Lodge

- Take Airport Drive SE which turns into 98th Street
- Take 98th Street several blocks to the 580 West toward Downtown Oakland/ San Fran

Accommodations for Nor Cal Osage gathering

The Oakland airport is a 15 to 20 minute drive from Leona Lodge. San Francisco is the next closest airport & the drive to the lodge depends on traffic (usually 45-60 minutes).

Hotels:

There is any number of hotels to choose from around the airport which is in closest proximity to the Lodge. Other areas to look for hotels are Emeryville and South Berkley. The hotels over in Emeryville are in the best area of town.

In addition to the agenda items, it appears Chief Red Eagle and more than half of the Osage Congress is coming. Each elected official, as usual, will have five minutes to speak, and they will be available for questions.

Northern California Osage Spring Meeting:
Saturday, March 23rd from 9AM – into the evening at the Petaluma KOA Recreation Hall.

Vann Bighorse, Cultural; Mograin Lookout, Language; Dr. Andrea Hunter, Historic Preservation; Lee Collins, Social Services; Rebecca Brave, NAGPRA/Graves Protection coordinator, Cherise Lookout, Education Outreach, and Joe Tillman, Cultural Division Leader.

For the first time, our Osage Cultural Directors are visiting California from Oklahoma and bringing a variety of cultural & craft activities and historical & informational presentations that can benefit all Osages. Supplies for moccasin (hom-pe) making and ribbon work class time will be provided. Bring a potluck dish to share, all Osages and their families are welcome.
